When the company's security guard named Bill Gate disallows Sam from entering the building due to the company's "no visitors" rule, Sam stows away in a crate to be carried into World Wide Weather. He soon finds himself in the clouds outside of World Wide Weather, the company that produces the weather. Fed up with his astraphobia, Sam dons his cape and goes into his attic to make the storm stop. While watching an episode of a Pajama Man cartoon, Sam gets spooked by a thunderstorm. The second game of the Pajama Sam franchise, it features the title character entering the World Wide Weather through his attic to stop the scary thunder and lightning. A Nintendo Switch version was released on February 10, 2022, followed by the PlayStation 4 version on the PlayStation Store in November. This game was ported to Android under the title Pajama Sam: Thunder and Lightning in April 2014. I'm just glad the revisit was a good experience when so many things were way jankier than I remember.Īlso, looks like the market is starving for quality, non-gambly edutainment.Pajama Sam 2: Thunder and Lightning Aren't so Frightening is a children's point-and-click adventure game originally released for Windows and Macintosh in 1998. All I remember was spending hot summer days at the library with my brother playing these games. I had no idea this series was so popular. A real pallet cleanser between heavy modern titles. It's intentionally hand hold-y and direct (character needs item, tells you where to obtain), but ever so slightly lets go towards the end. Freddi Fish is a 90's era, educational, point and click adventure game (think Monkey Island) intended for young kids. If you have no idea WTF is going on above, let me give a brief summary. If you grew up with these games, I can confidently recommend you check em out again. I got an emphatic "again, again!" seal of approval. The presentation has not suffered, the voice acting is surprisingly solid (despite some hammy stereotype performances, but it adds to the charm), the audio is crisp, the instructions/hints are clear, and the playtime lasts long enough to hold a young child's attention, compels them to keep going, but knows when to end. Well, I am thrilled to report that these games have stood the test of time. Imagine my surprise when I saw this nostalgia trip.
